10 Class Success Tips

1. COME TO CLASS

Think of class as a gym membership.  If you don't show up and do the work, you aren't going to see the progress you want.

2. YOUR JOB - KEEP YOUR DOG'S FOCUS ON YOU

For everyone's safety and for the ultimate learning environment, we need every handler to have ALL their focus on their dog.  Please try to do your best not to answer your cell phone during class unless it's an emergency.

3. DO NOT DROP YOUR LEASH - EVER

Your leash is for you and your dog and everyone else's safety.  Please do not drop your leash.  This isn't a typical dog class where all the dogs love all people and other dogs.  I allow dogs facing all kinds of struggles into my classes.  So even if your dog is friendly and loves people and dogs, remember the others in class probably don't.

4. WALK IN & OUT OF CLASS WITH 2 HANDS ON YOUR LEASH

When moving around with your dog, EVEN IN AND OUT OF CLASS, please keep two hands on your leash and KEEP YOUR DOG CLOSE TO YOU!  The farther away from you your dogs is, the less time you have to react to a situation.  Remember the goal is to keep your dog's focus on YOU.  If they're waaaay in front of you this isn't possible!.
