Take “NO” out of your daily conversations with your dog.

Instead: INTERRUPT, ASK, and GET OUT OF DODGE

 INTERRUPT THE BEHAVIOR you don't like 

AND 

ASK for a different behavior you want them to do in that situation instead

AND

Get your dog OUT of DODGE (out of the situation) so they can't just go back to doing the thing you were trying to quash!

 

This also goes back to don't waste your voice!

  Match the “crime” with the severity of your reaction.  

If it wasn’t truly dangerous for the dog or a person, ask yourself how you could have prevented the situation for your dog or if they truly know how they’re expected to behave in that situation.

It's also important to remember here that recognizing the 90% of good while re-directing the 10% of bad... for a dog ANY ATTENTION (even bad) IS BETTER THAN NO ATTENTION.

So don't get mad or angry - just TEACH THEM WHAT YOU WANT
